The Academy of Hospitality and Tourism at Terry Sanford High School is a career-focused program that connects classroom learning with real-world experiences. Students explore multiple career pathways through coursework in Culinary Arts, Hospitality and Tourism, Sport and Event Marketing, and Project Management, preparing them for postsecondary education and careers in hospitality, tourism, culinary arts, marketing, event planning, business, and related industries.

Through hands-on projects, industry and community partnerships, work-based learning, leadership opportunities, and career exploration, students apply classroom concepts in professional settings while developing practical, career-ready skills. The Academy fosters a supportive learning community where students strengthen communication, teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, and leadership skills while discovering their interests and preparing to confidently pursue college, careers, and future opportunities.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be considered for admission, students must complete the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism Application.The application requires a written essay and requests a copy of the student’s most recent report card.
