Families can easily find out who their school’s Family Ambassador is, connect with them and sign up for updates about events, programs and helpful resources. In the absence of a designated Family Ambassador at your school, families are encouraged to contact the Lead Family Ambassador serving their attendance area.

Want to Become a Family Ambassador?
Cumberland County Schools (CCS) is relaunching its Family Ambassador Program with a bold new structure and enhanced district-level support. We’re looking for trusted and enthusiastic community members to serve as connectors between families, schools and the district.
As a Family Ambassador, you will:
Take part in district-level training and monthly meetings
Share family-friendly information with others in your community
Work with other ambassadors in your attendance area to support district initiatives
Explore creative, community-based ways to engage families beyond the school walls
You won’t need to have all the answers. You’ll be trained to listen, guide and connect families with the right CCS staff or resources. When questions or concerns arise that require extra support, you’ll know how to escalate them to the Communications and Community Engagement team.
Requirements for Participation
To serve as a Family Ambassador, you must:
Be a registered CCS volunteer or be willing to sign up
Pass a CCS background check
Be available to attend one monthly district meeting (day or evening session offered)
Participate in attendance area team check-ins
Complete onboarding paperwork, including a W-9 form
Be comfortable using email and basic communication tools
Submit monthly activity documentation
Represent CCS with professionalism and a heart for service
Cannot be a current CCS employee
