Based on information received from the National Weather Service, it is expected that we will begin to receive snow and possibly ice during the overnight hours tonight and throughout the day tomorrow.   Because of the expected hazardous conditions, the Cumberland County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 for all students and staff.   Primetime will be closed.   All after-school activities are cancelled. Traditional calendar students will make up the January 17, 2018 inclement weather day on Monday, January 22, 2018. January 22, 2018 was originally a traditional calendar teacher workday. January 22, 2018 will now be a regular school day.

Monday there is NO school. Come prepared Tuesday for exams. Be on time as exams will start at 8:30. Get plenty of rest and eat a good breakfast.

Due to lost days of instruction because of school closure the Superintendent’s Cabinet has approved the following changes.

Image with the testing information: Due to lost days of instruction because of school closure the Superintendent's Cabinet has approved the following changes - Final Exams will begin: Tuesday 1/16 (1st period); Wednesday 1/17 (2nd period); Thursday 1/18 (3rd period); Friday 1/19 (4th period) and next Tuesday 1/23 (testing make-up) (January 16, 17, 18, 19, and 23). The 23rd will serve as the test make up day and we will begin the second (2nd) semester on Wednesday Jan. 24th. Any student whose schedule would change due to their exam scores would have their schedule changed by the 10th day of the second semester which is Tuesday, February 6th.

The Terry Sanford High School community is partnering with Operation Toy Drop this year to collect as many new toys for children in North Carolina, the United States and around the world who would otherwise receive nothing. This is the 20th year of the collection drive sponsored by the U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command at Fort Bragg.

We will be collecting toys at this Friday's football game versus Jacksonville, as well as at all other home events such as the chorus, band and orchestra concerts and winter sports home games between now and Dec 15, 2017  Please support our efforts by donating a toy during your next visit to Terry Sanford. Donations may also be dropped off to the main office during the school day.  Dates for participation are below: Home Athletic Events (Donate at the Gate) Football- Nov 17; Basketball- Dec 8 and 15; Wrestling- Nov 21 and Dec 13 . Cumberland County Schools sign that reads, Collaborate-Compete-SucceedCCS’ Next Superintendent: Tell Us What You Think!
The Cumberland County Board of Education has hired the North Carolina School Boards Association (NCSBA) to help facilitate its search for the next superintendent of the Cumberland County Schools (CCS). The Board wants direct input from members of the community to help shape the search process and to assist in defining the qualities and characteristics desired in the next CCS’ superintendent.
