Plan for Students to Retrieve Belongings Target Date: 6/2/2020 – 6/5/2020 ● Students will be assigned the following dates & times to come to the school to retrieve their personal belongings and return any school property (e.g., uniforms, books, calculators, etc.) with the goal of limiting the number of people in the building at any one time. Devices loaned to 9th, 10th and 11th grade students as part of Cumberland@Home will not be collected. Senior devices should be collected. ● Equipment and instructional materials will be secured until an official inventory can be conducted. ● Boxes/bins for students and parents to drop off library books and textbooks will be provided at the drop off location in front of the gym lobby. Returned library books will be stored in the media center and not touched for at least 5 days. Since the media center inventory is cancelled for this year, books can be stored and checked-in at a later date. Textbooks will be stored in the building and not touched for at least 5 days. Textbook inventory will be delayed until August. Staff members handling books should wear gloves. Do not use wet wipes or any other cleaner on library books or textbooks. ● Pick up and Drop Off Schedule: Freshman with last names A-M Monday 8:00-11:00, N-Z 12:00-4:00, open time (any student) 4:30-6:30 Sophomores with last names A-M Tuesday 8:00-11:00, N-Z 12:00-4:00, open time (any student) 4:30-6:30 Juniors last names A-M Wednesday 8:00-11:00, N-Z 12:00-4:00, open time (any student) 4:30-6:30 ● Tables will be set up outside the gym lobby (if weather permits) where parents and students can drop off items. All uniforms should be placed in bags for cleaning. ● A limited number of staff will be needed onsite to assist with the collection of items and distribution of items ● Parents and students should be encouraged to wear masks and maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet at all times.

Senior Survey 2020Attention Seniors this is the senior survey that we ask seniors to complete every year. This information will be used to send final transcripts once they are ready. The survey is a little different this year as we know there are a lot of unknowns at the moment. The more information seniors put in the better we can help advise them on next steps.

2019-2020 Junior Dues (Prom) Update Due to the ongoing restrictions affecting the 2019-2020 school year,  the Junior/Senior Prom has been canceled.   Students who paid their Junior dues  ($65.00 = $20.00 for t-shirt that has already been distributed/$45.00 for one prom ticket)  Option 1:  The $45.00 prom ticket will be credited for your Senior year prom (2020-2021 school year).  You will not be required to purchase a prom ticket next year.  T-shirt has already been given to all Juniors who paid.  No action needs to be taken.  If Mrs. McMillan does not get an email requesting a refund, your ticket will automatically be credited to next years prom.   Option 2:  request a refund for the prom ticket ($45.00).  No refund for the $20.00 as the t-shirts have already been distributed.  You must email Mrs. McMillan at mandymcmillan@ccs.k12.nc.us to request a refund.   You cannot call the school nor request through anyone else.   Mrs. McMillan will process all refund requests.   If you paid $20.00 only, you already received your Junior year t-shirt.  No action needed from you.   No refund will be given.   For those who already paid for an outside guest, you will be refunded. Please email a refund request to Mrs. McMillan.  Seniors who paid for a prom ticket THIS school year, can request a refund (send an email).  This DOES NOT include Senior dues.  Ms. Allen will instruct how Senior dues will be handled. NCHSAA MEMO | Update from NCHSAA March 23, 2020

Having heard the updated information relative to schools remaining closed until the middle of May, NCHSAA interscholastic athletics will remain suspended until at least May 18.

The NCHSAA Board of Directors and staff will use the next few weeks to weigh our future decisions based on the new directions given by Governor Cooper, other government leaders, and organizations charged with public health and safety during this unprecedented time.  Such decisions will include the possible resumption of spring sports’ competition and the possibility of holding the state basketball championships.

While we remain hopeful that we will be able to resume competition, particularly for our senior student-athletes, we also recognize the need to protect the health and safety of our students, coaches and the communities we serve.
