Daily Announcements & Upcoming Events

  • There will be a SENIOR CLASS meeting on Tuesday, April 11 in the auditorium at 10:00 a.m. This meeting will cover graduation and other end of year activities! Please make every effort to be in attendance! 
  • Any student who wants to sign up for FTCC classes for next year and missed the Registration Meetings, please see your counselor this week.
  • For current Seniors: Please open the attached flyer for instructions on how to submit your information for the Live United Service Cord.  Live United Service Cord
  • Students may order ID’s today during lunch.  A table will be set up outside of the cafeteria.  ID’s are $5.00.  Next day to purchase an ID will be on Thursday during lunch.
  • Seniors who completed the WorkKeys assessment in February need to come to Lab 9 during their lunch or to Lab 7 during fourth period to complete a short survey and pick up their assessment results. Otherwise, see Ms. Brooks in the CTE Office on Monday.
  • Seniors: If you did not pick up your cap and gown from Josten’s, please come see Mrs. Spicer in the main office.
  • Students attending prom are required to have either a DMV drivers license, DMV state ID, or an FTS school ID. Any student who needs a school ID may order one during luncheon TUESDAY or THURSDAY of this week.  A table will be set up in the hallway outside of the cafeteria.  Cost is $5.00.  This is the ONLY time IDs may be ordered.

    These students worked hard and represented Terry Sanford well at State Conference and are eligible for Nationals.

  • HOSA will host its last blood drive of the year next Tuesday, April 11. Please remember to eat a good breakfast and bring your photo ID on the day of the drive. Forms may be picked up in room 62 for donors that are 16 years old.
  • French Club will meet next Wednesday, April 12 at 3:35. Come to pick up your T-shirt and enjoy an Easter Trivia game.
  • If you are interested in running for SGA for the 2017-2018 school year, applications are available now on the SGA Board or outside Mr. Hight’s room. Applications are due on April 13th  to Mr. Hight or Emma West. Applications will not be accepted late.If your parent or grandparent attended Terry Sanford high school you can wear a legacy pin at graduation. See Olivia Bright for a form to get your pin.
  • Seniors!Scholarship deadlines are approaching quickly! The CCAPAP and the SECU People Helping People Scholarships are due April 13th! The CCAPAP must be sent directly to the organization per the application and the SECU People Helping People is due to your counselor by the deadline. Please make sure you are paying attention to deadlines!Don’t miss out on money for college!
  • Talent show auditions will be held Thursday, April 13 after school. Sign ups are at the auditorium door. You must perform what you will be performing for the talent shows. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Mrs. Herring, Hector S., Houston B., Quella R., or any other SGA representative.
  • D. N. Geddie Memorial Scholarship
    Deadline: April 14, 2017Eligibility:
    -DN Geddie Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to one Cumberland County HS senior who has demonstrated good community citizenship.
    -Criteria for selection will be based on academic ability (B average or better), desire for higher education, and need for financial assistance.
    -The amount will be $1,500 renewable each year for 4 years that the student remains in school, for a grand total of $6,000.Applicants must submit:
    -Completed application with a photo attached (photo is required)
    -School transcript (including GPA), class rank and best SAT/ACT score for each student
    -A supporting letter from a teacher, counselor, or principalSelected students must also interview for a panel on Thursday, May 4 at the Central Services Building. Terry Sanford will announce their nominated student the week prior to the interview.
  • Senior’s: Please take the time to look at the posters in the main, lunch and gym hallways if your name is on the list you must attend CPR training in the main gym on your assigned day. If you don’t see your name you have already taken the training. If you have any questions or concerns please see Mr. Stocks in guidance.
  • NCVPS registration for Summer 2017 and the 17-18 school year is OPEN! Applications are available in the Counseling Office.
  • Forms are now available in the guidance office for any Junior or Senior who wants to take FTCC summer school classes.
  • Any Sophmore or Junior who still wants to take FTCC classes next year – see your counselor to register – All documents need to be turned in by April 13.
  • On Saturday, April 29 there will be an AP Review Day at Terry Sanford High School.  If you have taken or are currently enrolled in AP World History, AP US History, AP Psychology, AP European History, AP Human Geography, AP Environmental Science, AP Calculus AB, AP Language, AP Literature, or AP Physics and would like to register see Mrs. Walker in the AP office prior to April 21.
